Bond Funds at Work

6th Avenue Reconstruction - Patterson Street to Muldoon Road

This project rehabilitated pavement and curb and completed other miscellaneous improvements as needed to bring the road up to current urban collector standards. Improvements included new pavement, curbs, pedestrian facilities on each side, street lighting, storm drains, traffic calming, and landscaping. Curbs and pavement were heaved and cracked and the majority of the roadway was originally not constructed to urban collector standards regarding pavement width, curbs, pedestrian facilities, drainage, and street lighting. The road provides an important access to Creekside Elementary School and Creekside Park. ARDSA bond funds provided approximately $3.8 million as a promised match to a $2.9 million State Grant received in 2008. Construction started in 2009 and will be completed in 2010. Total project cost is approximately $7.7 million. (Community Council: Northeast, Assembly District 5)
