Bond Funds at Work

80th Avenue Upgrade (RTP) - Lake Otis Parkway to Spruce Street

This project upgraded the road to urban collector standards. Improvements included pavement, curbs, storm drains, street lighting, traffic calming and pedestrian facilities. This street was a two-lane strip-paved road that functioned as a collector street with inadequate shoulders, drainage facilities, street lighting and pedestrian facilities. The project was a Road Transfer Program (RTP) project and the Municipality assumed maintenance and ownership of the facility upon construction start-up. ARDSA bond funds included approximately $200,000 for a local match. The project was primarily funded with previous State Grants. Total project cost was estimated at $6 million. Construction was started in 2008 and was completed in 2009. (Community Council: Abbott Loop, Assembly District 4)
