Bond Funds at Work

    Bayshore West Subdivision Reconstruction RID

This project reconstructed the local roads in this neighborhood through the Road Improvement District (RID) Program. Improvements included pavement, curbs, street lighting, and storm drains. These local roads were failing as evidenced by severe heaving and cracking. In addition, storm drainage was inadequate, resulting in flooding and glaciation in the roadway. The project was initiated and approved by abutting property owners who paid for a portion of the costs through special assessments. ARDSA bond funds included approximately $7.8 million for construction. Total project cost was estimated at $8.5 million. Construction was started in 2008 and completed in 2009.
